SCHOOL NEWSLETTER - MAY & JUNE 2017


            Thank you for choosing Dolly’s for your child’s preschool year!  We are truly grateful for the opportunity to become a part of your extended family for the past year.

May is here!! There are many important dates to note over the next six weeks. Please put them on your calendar:


MAY 1st Monthly tuition may be due this week for May. Reminder, if you paid a month or two prior September you may be paid in full. Note: If your child is returning next fall, September tuition is due May 1st.

  MAY 1st and 2nd - (Monday and Tuesday mornings) - Picture Days at Dolly’s with George Loring. If your child                       attends the afternoon session you can bring him or her by for pictures at 9:15 and pick them up around                                 10:15a.m. Note: Do not be late or your child will miss the group photo at 9:30 a.m. Envelopes are attached to this                 newsletter.
  
MAY 8th- 12th - The Hop-A-thon will be held this week. Please return all 2017 Hop-A-Thon donations by May 26th. We will be giving checks to the charities at graduation.

MAY 9th and MAY 12th – (Tuesday and Friday)- Kids Yoga with Amy McCormick at 12:45 p.m.

MAY 11th – (Thursday) – Parents Night Out at the Range Restaurant- You will get to know other parents, have             appetizers, and drive some golf balls into the night. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. You can show up at whatever           time works for you. The charge is $10.00 per person. Please sign up and pay by May 7th. Note: We will have to             switch venues to the Paragon Grill on Nantasket Beach if there is rain on May 11th.

MAY 14th (Sunday) – Happy Mother’s Day!

MAY 15th - May 18th - “DOLLY’S TRANSPORTATION WEEK”. We will have different cars and trucks at school             every morning and afternoon.

MAY 18th - (Thursday) - Our second Parents Night. Sign-up for a conference time with your child's teacher. The times             begin at 6:15 p.m. and end at 8:45 p.m. If you cannot make it on the 18th or get an appointment, you can set up        a time to meet either before or after school.

MAY 19th (Friday)-This is the last day to sign up for Graduation (see June 10th for more information.)  

MAY 21st. (Sunday) - PTAB Day at the Roger Williams Zoo. See below.

MAY 26th – Please return Hop-A-Thon donations by this date. Thank you!

MAY 29th (Monday) - Memorial Day - No School.

MAY 30th (Tuesday) - 7:00 p.m. - Our last PTAB meeting for 2016- 2017 at Margaritas Restaurant in   Weymouth. Any parent who attended a PTAB meeting during this year is invited. Note the early time.

JUNE 1st - If your child is returning next fall, a second tuition is due. Note: There is no June monthly payment             due for this year.

JUNE 4th- (Sunday) - PTAB trip to Edaville Railroad. See below.

JUNE 8th (Thursday) - The last day of school for 2016- 2017. (Reminder, we extended the year with an extra week             in June.) We will close at 3:00 p.m. today.

JUNE 8th (Thursday) - Our THIRTY- SECOND ANNUAL SCHOOL PICNIC will begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at 7:00p.m.             ALL FAMILIES ARE INVITED!  We’ll serve pizza, hamburgers and cheeseburgers from McDonalds, chicken tenders and hot dogs. We are asking each family to sign up to bring an item. The lists will be on the bulletin board. The PTAB is sponsoring a Free Bus ride from the Glastonbury Abbey parking lot to school. Do not park on PINE STREET OR SPRUCE STREET! YOU WILL HAVE TO MOVE YOUR CAR! There is no rain date. School will close at 3:00 p.m. today. Please remember to sign up to bring a food item. Big Ryan willperform at the picnic.

JUNE 9th through June 20th - School is closed.

JUNE 10th (Saturday)-Graduation - At St. Paul’s School Hall on Fearing Road in Hingham. Any child who is leaving             Dolly's to go on to kindergarten or first grade is eligible to graduate. Graduation begins at 9:00a.m. SHARP!! Please have your child at the school by 8:45a.m. Each child will receive a visor, a gown and a diploma. The graduates may keep the visor and diploma. The gown must be returned after the ceremony. The ceremony lasts about 38 minutes. Relatives are invited.
           If you would like your child to graduate, please sign up by May 19th. We will need time to print diplomas and programs. Visors and gowns may be picked up after May 26th. Please try the gowns on ahead of time. Gowns may need to be altered (They tie in the back). Caps will need bobby pins to stay on. BRING YOUR CAMERAS!                                                             
JUNE 21st - Summer Day Camp starts. 

AUGUST 25th Summer Camp ends.

AUGUST 26th - September 10th- School is closed.

SEPTEMBER 11th - The fall 2017 - 2018 preschool session begins.

PTAB NEWS     

            The Hop-A-thon will be held the week of May 8th. Please return all 2017 Hop-A-Thon donations by May 26th. We will be giving checks to the charities at graduation. Forms are attached to this newsletter.
           
            The PTAB is sponsoring a trip to Edaville Railroad on Sunday, June 4th - Tickets are being discounted from $27.00 for adults and children over 2 years of age to $10.00. Children under 2 are free. The park opens at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00p.m. Parking is free. Check out their website at www.edaville.com. A signup sheet is posted on the bulletin board. Please sign up and pay by May 26th.

            The PTAB is also sponsoring a Day at the Roger Williams Zoo on Sunday, May 21st.. The Zoo opens at 10:00 a.m. Kevin will be at the gate with refreshments until 10:20. The cost is $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child (under 2 years of age are free.) with a maximum of $20.00 per family. Please sign up and pay by May 17th. Regular price is $14.95 for adults and $9.95 for children.
